We are now recruiting for an experienced IS Field Engineer to undertake a vital role providing IS/IT support to our staff to ensure business teams are kept operational, assisting with hardware, software, and network issues and rollouts, including the delivery of our annual laptop and smartphone rollout. This role is also required to support colleagues in the wider team and business function and prepare documentation to share knowledge within support team and the business.

About the role

Reporting to the IS Service Manager, and as a vital part of a 3-person team covering the nation, both in-person and remotely, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing support for all hardware including desktops and laptop, tablets and smartphones, printer estates, and more.
  • Providing support for applications installed on our devices.
  • Completing service requests in line with agreed processes.
  • Supporting desktop projects, including large hardware and software rollouts.
  • Updating and completing assigned jobs in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with other support teams and ensuring calls are completed within a timely manner.
  • Ensuring service KPIs are maintained at a high level.
  • Ensuring all asset records are kept up to date and assisting with the recovery and disposal of assets.
  • Ensuring the PC builds are kept to standard, updated regularly, and secure.
  • Ensuring the IS Knowledge base is updated and maintained.
  • Ensuring assigned jobs are kept up to date to maintain customer awareness.
  • When required, covering service desk duties and other Field Engineer\'s regions for limited times, playing an active part in our wider support team.
About you

To truly excel in this role, you will possess, and be able to evidence, the skills and experiences including:
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting, upgrading, and replacing relevant systems and related peripherals.
  • Demonstrable experience of Active Directory user and computer account management, including OU and GPO configuration.
  • Administration experience of Azure AD (Entra ID), Microsoft 365 & Microsoft 365 apps.
  • Experience of configuring, managing, and supporting Enterprise Applications, such as MS Windows, email, and Anti-Virus.
  • Experience of supporting remote workers using broadband, wi-fi, and mobile technology.
  • Experience of utilising OS imaging applications.
  • Experience of maintaining an asset register.
  • Able to manage own workload with minimal supervision using a Service Management tool, and in terms of issue investigation and resolution.
  • Possess a logical approach to problem solving and able to use initiative to investigate and implement better ways of working.
  • Ability to learn and manage numerous business applications.
  • Ability to follow established configuration, maintenance, and support processes, and procedures.
  • Enthusiasm to act as a positive role model for the team and provide excellent customer service.
  • Willingness to travel to sites and visit customers within specified region, including a full UK driving license.
  • Desirably a professional service management accreditation, such as ITIL, and professional vendor certification, such as Microsoft.
