Our reward package

We\'re hiring for two IT Asset Managers to help us make a difference to our planet. We have one post focused on hardware asset management and one focused on software asset management. You will be joining our friendly and pivotal team at an exciting point in its history as we develop, embed and promote ITAM practices across the organisation.

As our IT Asset Manager you will work a hybrid pattern and will be on site at Exeter HQ one day a month minimum, one day per week preferred due to nature of the job. You can choose to work more frequently in our state-of-the-art office if you\'d prefer.

As our IT Asset Manager, your starting salary will be \xc2\xa324870.00. New joiners to the Met Office will start on the salary band minimum. Our 2022-25 pay award means the salary will increase to \xc2\xa326954.00 from 1st April 2024, and you will be able to progress towards \xc2\xa329531.00 over time.

In addition you will be paid \xc2\xa32500.00 per annum as a market supplement to reflect the demand for your skills. You will be paid this market driven allowance until March 2024 in your monthly pay whilst performing this role.

Your total reward package is potentially worth up to \xc2\xa338818.00 annually, which includes basic salary, market forces supplement, potential corporate bonus and employer pension contributions.

Job Purpose

As our IT Asset Manager, the key duties are:
  • Ensure that requests for ITAM services are actioned in a timely manner including creating/ amending IT asset records, procurement, and audit activities.
  • Provide clear and understandable compliance and warranty reports and respond to requests from Met Office stakeholders for specific IT Asset Management data information.
  • Document developed processes to ensure that they can be used, supported and maintained throughout their operational lifetime.
  • Actively promote the Met Office\'s ITAM Policies and best practices across the organisation.
Met Office has adopted the Government Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) framework. This job is aligned to Application Operations Engineer.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

We encourage you to apply if you believe you meet our essential criteria, but we\'re also keen to discover if you have: * Experience of IT Asset Management tooling (e.g. ServiceNow, SNOW, Flexera, InTune, MECM, Apple Business Manager)
  • ITIL v3 or v4
  • CHAMP, CSAM (or equivalent) qualification

We operate an on-call roster in Technology to provide 24/ 7/ 365 support to respond to operational service requirements. This post may be part of an on-call roster and the postholder would be required to participate in an on-call roster where in operation.
