Job title: IT Controls Analyst

Position purpose

Working within the IT Controls team, the IT Controls Analyst ensures adherence to general IT controls (GITCs). While the scope includes all IT controls, a significant proportion focusses on change/release management (50%). The analyst works with IT teams to develop, automate and review control compliance.

Main responsibilities

Change management

  • Run Change Advisory Board (CAB). This includes reviewing Change Requests (CR), setting up and running the weekly CAB meetings, recording the CAB outcomes, user support, and documentation.
Release management
  • Perform/coordinate deployments to production environments following controlled, repeatable and automated processes.
  • Conduct deployment plan/run book reviews with the delivery and support teams.
  • Provide guidance to development and operations teams on the best practice to be followed.
Control assurance
  • Evaluate, design, operate and review IT controls and monitoring.
  • Support the shaping, development and continuous improvement of controls frameworks across the business\xe2\x80\x99s core processes and systems.
  • Undertake discussions with key stakeholders on IT control testing outcomes and action plans, ensuring risk remediation/control improvement objectives are addressed by the actions.
  • Use automation to improve the efficiency of IT control assurance.
  • Ensure key documentation is available and up to date for IT controls.
Audit Support
  • Provide evidence (e.g. Access Controls, Change and Release Management) to financial audits and others as required.
Production of KPIs/Metrics
  • Design and implement KPIs/metrics to quantify the performance and accuracy of IT controls for consumption by IT management
Experience required

The successful candidate can demonstrate that they have:
  • Implemented and/or maintained change management controls, including participation or chairing of Change Approval Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Managed delivery in a relevant technology risk function, including knowledge of key control areas, such as security, IT resilience, change management, etc.
  • Performed production software deployments using technical deployment tools.
  • Experience of internal and/or external IT control audits.
  • Performed analysis to evidence that controls are operational or to identify areas of risk or potential improvement
  • Designed and documented General IT controls and processes either to mitigate specific risks and/or based on best practice
  • Reported IT KPIs/Metrics
Ideally, the above knowledge and experience will have been gained in a financial environment using both third party and in house developed software solutions.

Technical requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree, ideally in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of training and professional working experience.
  • Working knowledge of software deployment tools such as IBM UrbanCode Deploy or Azure DevOps pipelines, as well as experience of service management tools such as Ivanti or ServiceNow.
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Power Shell, Python etc.), SQL, and use of analysis tools (eg. MS Excel, Power BI).
  • Understanding of ITIL or other controls frameworks.

Hours of work:

Core hours of 8.30am \xe2\x80\x93 5.30pm; however, flexibility is required to meet essential business deadlines.
