Welcome to the Team



To provide efficient and effective IT services and support to the site. By undertaking administration, support and monitoring of the ICT network, hardware, and software resources; including installation, maintenance, availability, and security to support the operation requirements of the business.

Alongside the above, this role will provide support the ongoing implementation and maintenance of an ERP database system. Ensuring data is organised, accessible, and reliable for the organisation.

Getting a Flying Start



This is a standalone role with support from group IT support services and will be required to execute operations in compliance with expected quality standards. This role will also work closely with the finance team relating to ERP system data an reporting requirements.

The role will be responsible for the development of Microsoft 365 administration and maintenance of server hardware and software systems, including directory services, operating systems, email systems and database systems.

Issuance, maintaining and collection of all IT issued equipment that includes remote workers within the UK across all three UK sites (MK, Leeds and Edinburgh).

How You Make an Impact



Helpdesk:
Act as the first point of contact for colleague issues, troubleshooting hardware (PCs, printers), software (OS, apps), and network connectivity problems.

Setup & Maintenance:
Administration and maintenance of company network, including switches, wi-fi access points, configure and maintain devices, software, updates, and patches. Assign and revoke company equipment including laptops, smart phones, and access tokens

User Management:
Set up new user accounts including remote and local access accounts and email system accounts, manage permissions, and assist with onboarding/offboarding. Deal with enquiries, tickets logged on the service desk and to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and internal/external personnel

Inventory:
Manage IT inventory and liaise with vendors. Negotiate communications contract for copiers/printer contract/mobile phones/laptop equipment etc

ERP Database Management:
Input, update, and maintain records, identifying and merging duplicates, ensuring the system data is kept updated at all times Become the local 'system super user' for the ERP system

Reporting:
Working alongside Finance, take ownership of specific daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as below, ensuring accurate and timely information is reported in line with business requirements Reconciliation of ERP system data and Nexans Head Office reporting tools Run routine queries, generate reports, and extract data for analysis

Data Quality:
Assist in data quality checks and compliance with policies. Maintain access permissions to ensure compliance to audit and policy requirements Knowledge of data security protocols and compliance

Your Starting Points


2-5 years working in a helpdesk, desktop support, or systems administration role Previous experience of working with database reporting and data analytics Technical proficiency in hardware, software, networking, security basics and ticketing systems Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication to assist non-technical users Attention to detail for data accuracy Data and system security awareness and ensuring compliance to all legal and company related to processes and policies Experience of supporting ERP systems (knowledge of Business Central) would be advantageous
