As part of our growth we are seeking a hands-on, technically skilled IT professional to support and manage hardware provisioning, device lifecycle tasks, and frontline technical operations for a key enterprise customer. The role focuses on preparing, deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting Windows-based devices, ensuring users receive preconfigured, secure, and compliant equipment.

Duties
The role is a varied and exciting role and requires dedication, organisation, the ability to self-manage your workload working towards agreed targets and consulting with a variety of departments and stakeholders. The key responsibilities are:
Provision, configure, and prepare new Windows laptops and desktop devices, including asset tagging and Autopilot enrolment.
Perform OS installations, re-imaging, and upgrades (e.g., Windows 10 to Windows 11).
Diagnose hardware faults and liaise with manufacturers for warranty repairs or replacements.
Coordinate break/fix hardware support through customer service desks and ticketing systems.
Manage returns, refurbishments, and redeployment of IT assets for leavers and replacements.
Maintain and update asset and tracker systems (Excel, SharePoint, IQ Reseller).
Carry out PAT testing with proper labelling; monitor devices due for re-testing.
Ensure all customer devices are shipped according to agreed SLAs and logistical processes.
Support procurement activities by liaising with suppliers to order equipment and manage delivery queries.
Participate in regular stock checks and ensure all equipment is tracked and recorded accurately.
Work closely with internal teams and customer stakeholders to ensure seamless hardware delivery and support.
Attend monthly review calls with stakeholders to discuss upcoming demand, performance, and support planning.
Ensure high standards of operational quality, customer service, and compliance.
Experience
Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating systems.
Experience with Microsoft Autopilot and Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune enrolment processes.
Familiarity with the Microsoft Company Portal and general device compliance practices.
Good understanding of hardware fault diagnosis and basic electronics (e.g., RAM, SSD, battery replacements).
Comfortable using and managing Excel-based trackers and SharePoint systems.
Ability to communicate technical issues and resolutions clearly with users and vendors.
Awareness of PAT testing standards and equipment safety protocols.
Comfortable using remote support and provisioning tools where applicable
Desirable Skills and Personal Attributes
Experience with ITAD operations or working in a regulated or customer-facing IT environment.
Exposure to systems like Sage 200, IQ Reseller or similar stock/inventory systems.
Understanding of SLA-driven service desks and ticket triaging processes.
Experience with shipping and returns logistics for IT hardware.
Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
Proactive and confident working independently.
Calm under pressure, especially when dealing with hardware failures or urgent replacements.
A natural problem-solver with strong communication and customer service abilities.
Reliable and methodical, with a focus on doing things the right way first time.
