About the Role



We are seeking a skilled and dedicated

IT Engineer

to join our technical support and maintenance team. In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair a variety of computer systems and hardware components to ensure optimal functionality across client environments.

As part of a hands-on technical team, you'll work both independently and collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, carry out preventative maintenance, and support a wide range of IT infrastructure tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in computer systems maintenance and a passion for solving technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities



Install, maintain, and test computer hardware including processors, memory, storage devices, and peripherals Diagnose and repair hardware faults using industry-standard tools and methodologies Install, upgrade, and configure operating systems, firmware, and device drivers Perform software troubleshooting including malware removal and system optimization Support and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure (e.g., CAT5/6, Wi-Fi APs) Document all work accurately including job sheets, photos, and customer sign-offs Maintain safety and compliance standards while working on-site or remotely Advise clients on IT best practices and deliver basic user training as needed

Candidate Profile



The ideal candidate will be a confident technician with strong experience in diagnosing hardware issues, supporting network installations, and working across both Windows and macOS environments. You should also be able to document your work clearly and communicate with customers professionally.

Essential Skills & Experience



Proven experience in computer hardware repair, servicing, and maintenance Software troubleshooting across Windows and macOS platforms Networking knowledge including cable installation and Wi-Fi setup Experience with malware remediation and system security practices Strong documentation skills and customer service orientation Health & safety awareness (lone-worker checks, HSE compliance)

Desirable Qualifications



Advanced Computer Maintenance Level 3 Diploma (or working towards) Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) Level 4 Diploma in Digital Marketing (beneficial for hybrid technical-marketing roles) Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Previous experience with BIOS/firmware repair and chip-level diagnostics

Entry Requirements



We are looking for practical experience and a problem-solving mindset over formal academic qualifications. Whether you've worked in a repair shop, provided IT support for a business, or handled technical issues hands-on your ability to get the job done is what matters most.

This role is well-suited to:

Technicians with on-the-job training or informal experience in IT repairs Self-taught individuals with a solid portfolio of hands-on work Career changers with a strong aptitude for tech and a proven track record in hardware/software troubleshooting.
