Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons is seeking an experienced and capable individual to provide first and second line response and tech support to our diverse veterinary services teams across four main sites.
The practice is a mixed environment, with a present bias to Mac but increasing use of PC, extending to in excess of 200 machines on the network across our four sites.
Applicants must have Windows desktop knowledge and competence, with familiarity with Office functions and products. Windows server experience is an advantage but not essential.
Knowledge of MacOS is desirable.
Working within a small but vital team that supports the operations of a leading and prestigious equine veterinary practice, across multiple sites and all its functions, you will be active, dynamic and personable. Your key role will be to provide effective first line desktop support to employees in a range of roles across the practice, through to servers and infrastructure support.
Responsibilities will include checking and running backups, routine background processing, ensuring our systems are working properly to support a 24/365 business environment. You will also be responsible for user account management and user administration as well as supporting service contracts such as printers, scanners and other connected devices.
This is a dynamic environment with frequent changes to work stations and locations, as a result responsiveness and versatility are essential.
This position would suit someone with previous experience working successfully in a similar role, who is friendly and flexible to respond to business need including some out of hours and occasional weekend working. You must be conscientious, work methodically and logically in an organised manner and be both calm and resilient. The ability to proactively support the upskilling of users, in basic IT competence, would be advantageous.
Reporting to the Business Director, you will liaise on a day-to-day basis with our existing senior IT Support Engineer.
The main aspects of this role include (but are not limited to):
Providing effective first line desktop support to employees in a range of roles across the Practice, through to servers and infrastructure support.
Checking and running backups, routine background processing, ensuring our systems are working properly to support a 24/365 business environment.
User account management and user administration as well as supporting service contracts such as printers, scanners and other connected devices.
Managing moves and changes to users systems and locations. Systems upgardes as required.
Integration with Vet Partners IT services in handling requests from them for tasks to be completed.
Supporting with any other duties or tasks reasonably requested, to ensure the smooth running of the Practice.
Proactively support the upskilling of users in basic IT competence and good practice in accordance with business policies and SOPs.
All Rossdales support staff are required to have a flexible approach to their duties and may, at any time, be required to cover absence and illness in closely associated departments across the site.
