The Role




We are seeking a proactive and technically capable Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain our IT infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises environments. This role is ideal for someone with 3+ years of experience in a similar role who is looking to grow their expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, endpoint security, and infrastructure operations. You will work closely with senior engineers and IT teams to ensure the performance, security, and reliability of our systems, while gaining hands-on experience with modern enterprise technologies.

Key Responsibilities



Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of virtual environments in Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, networking, and storage. Support the management and optimisation of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Act as an escalation point for the helpdesk, assisting with Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical issues across infrastructure, cloud, and endpoint systems, and collaborate with other departments such as Development and the Cyber Security team to support cross-functional initiatives. Provide Level 1 and 2 support for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests. Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and user provisioning. Support Microsoft Intune for device management, compliance policies, and application deployment. Assist in managing Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, including onboarding devices, monitoring alerts, and responding to incidents. Perform routine Windows Server maintenance, both on premise and cloud, including patching, updates, and basic troubleshooting. Assist with Active Directory and Group Policy management. Monitor and maintain SQL Server environments, including backups and basic performance checks. Participate in backup and disaster recovery testing and documentation. Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures. Collaborate with senior engineers on infrastructure projects and upgrades. Contribute to the automation of routine tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools.

Skills & Experience



Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT infrastructure or system administration role. Experience managing Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking. Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams admin centre and Microsoft InTune. Basic experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP. Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server administration. Experience of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
