IT Infrastructure Manager - Central London - Full-Time

Robert Half is working exclusively with a valued client who is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Cloud Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the secure, efficient and reliable operation of all IT infrastructure, software and associated systems. This role plays a critical part in enabling the organisation to deliver its business objectives and meet evolving user requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Management

• Manage, support and maintain the organisation's infrastructure, including hardware, networks and software systems, ensuring optimal performance and correct licensing.
• Oversee IT security, backups and compliance - including GDPR - in collaboration with internal teams and third-party suppliers.
• Lead supplier management activities and coordinate regular security testing.

Team Leadership & Service Delivery

• Line manage the IT Helpdesk function (2 people).
• Participate in the organisation's incident management planning and response.
• Work with operational teams to ensure comprehensive system documentation, robust processes and effective user support and training.

Strategic & Technical Leadership

• Contribute to architectural decision-making alongside the wider IT team.
• Develop and maintain IT governance, including policies and procedures.
• Plan, document and test disaster recovery and business continuity measures.
• Lead on telephony development, including mobile services, and manage multi-year procurement and licensing strategies.

Continuous Improvement

• Maintain high-quality documentation across infrastructure, equipment, manuals and risk management.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and propose enhancements that support operational effectiveness.
• Provide support to the broader IT team and contribute to special projects as required.

Skills & Experience Required

• Microsoft Associate certification in Azure, Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Security.
• Proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Manager or equivalent role within a Microsoft hybrid environment (Entra, Intune, Azure).
• Strong track record delivering IT infrastructure projects and organisational change, such as M365 file migrations, email protection initiatives and legacy-to-Azure transitions.
• Excellent understanding of technical management, information analysis, hardware/software systems and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Expertise in data governance and security principles.
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, including switching, routing, security appliances, installation and administration.
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with effective tactical execution.
• Experience developing and monitoring IT policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage credibly at all levels.
• Strong people-management skills.
