We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Manager to support the IT Director in overseeing our organisation's information technology strategy and implementation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing IT projects, ensuring the security of our systems, and providing technical support to staff. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, software development, and disaster recovery processes to ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
Duties
Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment including DHCP servers and firewalls.
Oversee software development projects, ensuring they meet organisational needs and are delivered on time.
Implement disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical data and maintain business continuity.
Provide desktop support to staff, resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
Manage remote access software to facilitate secure connectivity for remote employees.
Ensure servers are maintained, updated, and secured against potential threats.
Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Monitor IT performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
Skills
Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and practices.
Proficiency in managing DHCP configurations and firewall settings.
Experience in software development methodologies and project management.
Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution.
Excellent desktop support skills with a focus on user satisfaction.
Effective time management skills to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with remote access software solutions for secure connectivity.
Knowledge of server management best practices.
Proficient in using Microsoft Word for documentation purposes.
