About the Role
We are seeking a capable and well-organised
IT Manager
to own the group's technology operations -- coordinating external service providers, maintaining key business systems, and ensuring day-to-day continuity across our UK, Ireland, and Vietnam operations. This is a
stand-alone role
that balances light hands-on administration with supplier governance. You'll be the central point of control for NetSuite ERP, Microsoft 365/Azure AD, networking continuity, security/compliance, and the external service desk -- ensuring reliability, security, and value for money.
Key Responsibilities
1. Core System Administration & Support
Act as primary administrator for core business systems, including
NetSuite ERP
,
Microsoft 365
,
SharePoint
, and
Azure AD
.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and basic configuration within these platforms.
Oversee the external service desk (Jira Helpdesk / MSP), ensuring issues are logged, prioritised, and resolved within SLAs.
Provide first-line in-house support and escalate complex issues to external partners.
Maintain key system documentation and update internal knowledge base materials.
2. IT Infrastructure & Service Provider Coordination
Manage and coordinate a portfolio of service providers, including:
Managed IT support and infrastructure partners
Broadband, network connectivity, and telephony providers
Mobile contracts and device estate
On-site
CCTV, access control, and physical security systems
across Launceston and Andover
Hardware and software procurement partners
Ensure suppliers meet agreed service levels and costs remain within budget.
Oversee backups, device lifecycle, and licensing compliance, working closely with suppliers.
Monitor network performance and ensure resilience plans are in place.
3. Data, Security & Compliance
Maintain user access and security standards across systems, including MFA, VPN, and device policies.
Coordinate periodic security reviews with external partners to ensure Cyber Essentials and GDPR compliance.
Oversee data backup routines, recovery testing, and incident reporting.
Keep IT policies and documentation up to date for audits and management review.
4. Systems Improvement & IT Governance
Work with operations and finance teams to optimise NetSuite use and improve process efficiency.
Coordinate upgrades and testing across business systems.
Identify areas where automation, integration, or system configuration can add value -- managing delivery through partners.
Maintain an IT roadmap and budget aligned with operational growth.
Report on system performance, incidents, and improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience (Required)
Proven experience managing IT operations in a
small or standalone environment

Strong working knowledge of
Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server environments
, and
network fundamentals
.
Experience administering or supporting an
ERP system
(ideally
NetSuite
).
Confident in
vendor management
, holding MSPs and comms providers accountable.
Practical understanding of IT security principles and data protection.
Networking skills for occasional on-site tasks
(e.g. firewall configuration, switch management).
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
Desirable
Microsoft or ITIL certifications.
Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or logistics environments.
Familiarity with Power BI or reporting tools.
PowerShell or scripting knowledge
for light automation -- nice to have, not essential.
