IT Manager - LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)

Location: Selby, North Yorkshire

Salary \xc2\xa365-85,000 + car allowance + bonus

Our client is looking to recruit an IT Manager with expertise in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) into their international business. The successful candidate will oversee the IT department and set the strategy for the company\'s continued growth & development, supporting a number of projects, along with a strong technical understanding. Reporting to the Managing Director the IT Manager will work closely with the senior management team to determine and deliver the IT agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage the consolidation of the existing laboratory management systems into a Global LIMS
  • To develop and execute the LIMS strategy aligned with the organisation\'s objectives.
  • To oversee the maintenance, enhancement, and optimisation of the company\'s LIMS infrastructure, working with the international team to manage and optimise cloud-based and in-house IT/LIMS systems
  • To lead and oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards, collaborating with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
  • To manage internal and external IT teams, ensuring efficient resource allocation and performance optimisation, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • To work on the Hub team to foster seamless connectivity between the Client Web Interface and LIMS.
  • To ensure the compliance of the laboratory regulations, ensuring the implementation of robust security measures to safeguard company data and systems.
  • To develop and manage LIMS budgets, optimising spending while ensuring effective resource utilization, identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and performance.
The Person
  • Proven experience of working with LIMS
  • Degree educated, or equivalent, in a technology/computer-based subject
  • Proven experience in IT management roles
  • In-depth knowledge and application of IT infrastructure, security, and compliance standards
  • Proven experience in system/software support including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and identifying issues.
  • Previous experience in a scientific/laboratory based business
  • Proven experience of working with & managing an IT budget
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work well with technical and non-technical resources.
  • Ability to take initiative, make decisions, and show confidence in decisions made.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
