The Network & Security Support Engineer role operates within the Global Technical Operations Team addressing all BAU Operations, sites and project needs from a network and security perspective. This role will be reporting to the Global Technical Lead Networks working as a collaborative team member.



The role supports network setups for our construction sites and head office sites addressing the configuration of all network assets, Firewalls and some Cloud Infrastructure elements. The role will further support our Cyber Security posture therefore contributing to the resolution of identified security threats in an enterprise environment Key responsbilities will include:


Provide solutions that minimize costs and bring experience to automate solutions to provide a more productive team delivering a tangible business benefit Work together with our SDMs and other IT stakeholders to provide feedback on any operational or project issue/deployment affecting internal stakeholders Proactive Monitoring of network and security infrastructure using various monitoring tools. Deploy functional networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN). Configure and install network monitoring software, switches, routers, APs and other network devices. Follow the correct change management process in implementation of new systems and network changes in the global MPX network using the ITIL Change Request process, ensuring clear and up to date documentation. Troubleshoot and assist with resolving system, network and security related problems Work as a project resource for any network and/or security stream of deliverables Ensure that all incidents and service requests are resolved according to the defined OLA and closed with the relevant resolution comments and code. Work on creating knowledge base articles and contribute to team standard operating procedures process and monthly updates. Contribute to the maintenance and continued improvement of our Information Security Management System (ISMS) and ensure tasks are carried out in accordance to these standards Provide second and third level support to customers whilst supporting the global service desk team to address event management incidents and alerts. Manage support escalations on any network infrastructure, troubleshoot and log faults with the vendors when required

What do I need to be successful in this role?




Experience in a technical support role, such as Service Desk or End-User Computing (EUC), with a proven track record of resolving incidents and fulfilling service requests. Foundational knowledge of core networking concepts, including the OSI/TCP-IP model, IP addressing (IPv4), subnetting, and essential network protocols like DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, and ICMP. Understanding LAN, WAN, VLANs and WLANs. Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting from a support perspective, such as using command-line tools (ping, tracert/traceroute, ipconfig, nslookup) to diagnose user connectivity issues. Creating High Level and Low Level network diagrams and keeping network documentation up to date. Knowledge of different WAN technologies, topologies, and configurations required for deployment (SDWAN, MPLS, LL, 5G/LTE). Experience with the next generation of virtual Firewalls, configuring security policies, NAT policies, user identification, Application identification, VPN tunnels, and Remote Access VPN. Experience working with Cisco Meraki devices i.e. Security Appliances (MX devices), Switches, and WAP's An understanding of network security concepts, such as VLANs (for network segmentation) and Firewalls (as a boundary control).Familiarity with Web Filtering products such as Zscaler, configuring policies, generating reports, performing upgrades. Ability to plan & perform OS and firmware upgrades across our all regional sites. Familiarity with the service management lifecycle, including experience using Service Now platforms for logging, categorizing, and resolving tickets.
