It Relations Assistant

Cardiff, WLS, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Location: Cardiff Start Date: ASAP

Are you a proactive IT professional with a passion for people as much as technology?

We're looking for an

IT Relations Assistant

to become the friendly face of tech support across our Redkite offices.

We're not looking for a typical IT helpdesk technician -- this role is about so much more. We're after someone who's confident engaging with teams across the business, spotting opportunities to improve how we use tech day-to-day, and delivering hands-on support with personality and clarity. You'll be a key player in our IT function -- running inductions, training sessions, and being the go-to person who helps demystify tech for everyone. If you love people as much as you love solving problems, and you're proactive, visible, and full of ideas, this could be the perfect next step.

Redkite Solicitors prides itself on being able to offer a broad range of legal services that are able to meet the diverse needs of its clients. Our firm has been providing legal advice to individuals, families and businesses in our communities since 1898 and we are here for our clients every step of the way. We are a forward-looking, ever-expanding firm and are proud to be an employer of choice for around 250 staff members.

What will you be doing?

This role is responsible for supporting the IT Services Manager in providing IT support and training to our employees, getting involved in IT projects and adding value to the firm's IT provision.

Provide on-site, remote, and face-to-face IT support to end-users across all Redkite offices, mainly covering Cardiff to Gloucestershire, delivering a responsive and personable service. Act as a visible IT presence across the business -- building trust with users, understanding their pain points, and proactively offering tech-based solutions. Work closely with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) to manage helpdesk tickets, analyse trends, and identify recurring issues for resolution and training. Lead and prioritise your daily workload, ensuring a collaborative, efficient working approach. Monitor the IT Services mailbox, responding to user requests and identifying opportunities for improved support. Support the IT Services Manager with business-as-usual (BAU) activities, including cyber security initiatives, networking issues, and system enhancements. Troubleshoot software and hardware issues across laptops, mobile devices, and other workplace tech, ensuring minimal disruption to users. Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, sharing user feedback, trends, and new ideas to improve service delivery.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a confident, approachable IT professional who enjoys helping others and can thrive in a fast-paced, people-driven environment. The ideal candidate will bring not just technical know-how, but a proactive mindset and strong communication skills that inspire trust and engagement.

Minimum of 2 years' relevant IT experience and experience within a law firm or using legal software Proven ability to present training concepts and materials clearly to professional, legal, and technical audiences -- both in writing and in person Strong customer focus and ability to communicate effectively at all levels Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and build strong cross-functional relationship Confident delivering user-focused training sessions (classroom, 1:1, remote, and webinars) Strong initiative and ownership -- able to independently manage tasks and contribute ideas to drive improvement Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Good working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and PDF software (Adobe Pro or equivalent) Experience supporting and troubleshooting both software and hardware (laptops, mobile devices, networks) Desirable: Knowledge of legal systems such as SOS and prior use of legal software packages Willingness to regularly attend all Redkite Offices across South Wales and Gloucestershire Full clean UK driving license and access to your own vehicle

What is in it for you?

We're committed to creating a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing legal team. You'll be joining colleagues who are not only legally excellent but also commercially astute and down-to-earth. We value trust, boldness, excellence and teamwork -- and we want you to thrive as part of that.
