About The Role
Group IT are recruiting for a Service Transition Manager on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting into the Senior Service Manager you will take full ownership of the transition management process, including the development, maintenance and continuous refinement of associated templates and tools. You will proactively identify opportunities for improvement, implement best practices and ensure the process evolves in alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
Your role will involve planning and overseeing the effective transition of new or updated IT services into live operations, ensuring they meet business objectives, are optimally designed and fully embedded within established operational workflows.
Skills & experience you can bring to the role:

  • ITIL Framework Expertise with deep understanding of ITIL, especially Service Transition processes (e.g., Change Management, Release & Deployment, Service Validation).
  • Deep experience in IT Service Management, specifically in service design and transition, in a complex and large organisation
  • Service Lifecycle Knowledge with familiarity of the full IT service lifecycle, from strategy to operations.
  • Project Management with the ability to plan, coordinate, and manage transition projects (often using methodologies like PRINCE2 or PMP).
  • Configuration and Release Management with experience managing releases, deployments, and configuration items.
  • Risk and Impact Analysis with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks during transitions.
  • Strong experience of managing internal and external supplier service provision and relationships in a large organisation and with multiple suppliers
  • Excellent experience of managing relationships with other IT disciplines
  • Solid experience working with both agile and traditional project methodologies
  • Proficiency with Service Management Tools like ServiceNow.
  • Skilled in documentation and reporting including creating transition plans, reports, and knowledge base articles.
  • Familiarity with testing and validation tools within test management.
