Job Description


IT Support Administrator Orbital Education, a pioneer of British International education and an award-winning private company, are looking for an IT Support Administrator to support their rapid growth and provide technical and project support to their head office and client base. This is an opportunity to progress your IT career and work alongside a technically minded team to expand your current skill set.

With a degree of remote working on offer, this role will predominantly be based in South Manchester 4 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

Head Office Technical Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related inquiries, queries, and issues from Head Office staff regarding the group\'s technology infrastructure, including networking, end user devices, monitoring, billing, cloud services, and antivirus.
  • Provide support for the procurement and billing processes for software, hardware, and cloud services.
  • Coordinate warranty and non-warranty repairs as needed.
  • Manage the asset register and keep track of procured items.
  • Resolve Office 365 user and access-related issues for Head Office personnel.
  • Support Dynamics CRM and Dynamics Business Central cloud technologies.
  • Assist with the Azure infrastructure.
  • Issue and maintain a log of access control methods used in the Head Office.
  • Contribute to the development of the IT function to accommodate scalable levels as the group grows.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of printers and sufficient stock levels of consumable items.
  • Ensure that ICT equipment meets technology standards, health and safety policies, local laws, and is kept secure, safe, and clean.
2nd / 3rd Line Support (For All Orbital Group Schools)
  • Act as the primary point of contact for core business technologies utilized across the wider group.
Project Support
  • Demonstrate the aptitude to learn and analyse new project requests, ensuring that the right projects are delivered in alignment with company strategy and needs.
  • Provide support for changes and development tasks in various areas defined by the project, including Microsoft Dynamics, Power Apps, and Azure.
  • Serve as a 2nd line contact for system escalations during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) or early life support for core business-wide group systems.
  • Assist with the technology requirements for corporate events.
  • Proactively support Head Office and group staff with IT-related training to enhance their efficient use of IT technologies and services.
  • Ensure the provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts, as well as the maintenance of access levels in accordance with defined roles.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Competent knowledge and understanding of Microsoft/Windows-based systems, including client operating systems and architecture.
  • Strong technical ability and proficiency in solving ICT hardware and software problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively prioritize work and manage time, particularly under pressure.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a high standard of IT helpdesk support.
Experience in:
  • Windows 10 Active Directory, Azure AD, DHCP & DNS.
  • Supporting and diagnosing bespoke systems.
