The Role



IT Support Engineer





Plexus is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Support Engineer to take ownership of complex technical escalations, maintain critical infrastructure components, and mentor junior staff. If you are proficient across the stack, from end-user support to server maintenance, we invite you to apply!

Due to the nature of project work we require candidates to hold U.K. nationality or to either have, or be able to go through, U.K. national security vetting and clearance.



Please note that this role is an on-site, full time position.


In this role you will role you will;

Focus on advanced problem resolution and infrastructure stability. Serve as the escalation point for all complex hardware, software, and network incidents, driving issues to complete resolution. Manage and maintain core server infrastructure (physical and virtualized environments, e.g., VMware), including patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks. Oversee and optimize our Active Directory structure, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, and DHCP services. Develop, implement, and maintain IT operational documentation and disaster recovery procedures for critical systems. Lead small to medium-scale IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, or the rollout of new infrastructure technologies. Support Global projects to ensure smooth transitions. Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for sophisticated network components (e.g., firewalls, managed switches, Wi-Fi configurations).

What we're looking for:


The ideal candidate must demonstrate proven expertise in the following areas:

Experience: 2+ years in an advanced IT support, Systems Administration, or Infrastructure Engineering role. Systems Expertise: Deep proficiency with Windows Server operating systems (2016/2019/2022) and virtualization technologies. Automation: Scripting proficiency using PowerShell for routine administrative tasks and automation is highly desirable. Networking: Solid understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, VLAN configuration, and VPN technologies. Soft Skills: Exceptional diagnostic, analytical, and mentoring abilities to guide colleagues and interact confidently with senior management. UK Security clearance will be required for this role.
