Due to expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated 2nd/3rd line IT Support Engineer to add to our service desk operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer who will provide a supporting role, you must have excellent communication skills, enjoy a challenge and wish to progress your career.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support for end-users across desktop, server, and network environments.
Configuring and managing firewalls on multiple platforms including Fortigate, Watchguard, PFSense, Draytek and others.
Monitor and maintain systems performance, patching, antivirus and backups.
Administer Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Azure AD, Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows Server.
Installing and configuring VoIP phone systems
Monitoring Helpdesk tickets and responding in a timely manner and recording your activity.
Documenting changes and solutions and updating training material.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum 3 years' experience in IT support, preferably within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
Microsoft exams/certifications (e.g. Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server) are desirable but not essential.
Strong expertise with Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365 administration, including tracing messages, managing SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Office software.
Experience with Microsoft Server technology, including Hyper-V virtualisation, DHCP, DNS, licensing.
Experience using Azure or on-premise active directory for managing domain services, users, security and access groups.
Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, including WAN and LAN connectivity, switching and VLANs
Cyber security awareness, including the cyber essentials & Cyber essentials + scheme.
Familiarity with some or all of the following technologies: Altaro/Hornet Security, 3CX, N-Able, Unifi
Experience or interest in cloud hosting technologies and applications would be an advantage. For example Linux, Apache, Nginx, PHP, Plesk, WordPress and Elementor.
Experience working with an RMM and ticket management systems.
Experience working with vendors and/or 3rd party suppliers.
Experience with HP / Dell and other leading manufacturer's hardware.
Knowledge of VoIP telephony, both hosted and on premises preferably 3CX would be an advantage.
Excellent communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
Microsoft certifications (e.g. MS-900, AZ-104)
General certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+)
3CX Basic Fundamentals
