IT Support Technician


This is a site-based role at our Bicker facility, reporting to the Head of Systems and IT, working full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) with a salary of 25,000-35,000 per annum, depending on experience.

As JDM Food Group continues to grow, we are looking for a proactive and skilled

IT Support Technician

to join our Systems and IT team. You'll provide day-to-day technical support across the business, ensuring hardware, software, and network systems are maintained effectively. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to deliver high-quality support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities



Provide first and second-line IT support to all users (onsite and remote). Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly. Set up and configure new equipment including laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripherals. Support the provisioning and maintenance of user accounts, access rights, and permissions. Assist with onboarding and offboarding by setting up or removing IT access and equipment. Ensure all devices are updated regularly and protected with antivirus and security patches. Maintain accurate asset records and ensure hardware and software are appropriately licensed. Support and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, and Wi-Fi access points. Monitor system performance, reporting recurring issues and improvement opportunities to the Head of Systems and IT. Maintain system backups and ensure data integrity. Create and update IT documentation, user guides, and support records. Deliver excellent customer service and communicate clearly with users at all levels. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and external vendors to ensure smooth IT operations. Stay up to date with new technologies and IT best practices relevant to the role.

About You



Essential:



Previous experience in an IT Support or Helpdesk role. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office 365. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organised, task-focused, and able to prioritise effectively. Customer-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude. Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.

Desirable:



Understanding of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP B1 or similar. Basic knowledge of networking and firewall configuration. Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (e.g. Hyper-V).
