IT Support Technician

to join our IT team.



Working under the supervision of the IT Manager, you will provide hands-on operational support to ensure staff and student have reliable access to technology across the school.


The Role





This is a frontline role, essential in keeping our IT systems running smoothly and supporting the day-to-day needs of our community. You will deliver technical support, maintain audio-visual systems, manage the school's mobile device fleet, and ensure IT equipment is ready for lessons, boarding activities, and school events.


Key Responsibilities:




Provide IT helpdesk support and classroom technical assistance. Deliver basic IT training to staff and students on Windows and Apple systems. Set up, maintain, and support AV equipment for assemblies, productions, open days, and other events. Manage school-issued devices (Windows laptops and Chromebooks), handling requests and support for staff and students. Maintain accurate IT equipment databases and fixed asset registers. Assist with equipment disposal and ensure hardware is ready for term/year starts. Support boarding house IT needs, including occasional out-of-hours support. Work closely with the IT Manager and wider team to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Essential Skills & Experience:




Practical helpdesk or IT support experience, or equivalent technical aptitude. Working knowledge of Windows, Chrome OS, and Apple/Mac operating systems. Experience with audio-visual equipment setup and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Problem-solving ability and a methodical approach to troubleshooting. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Comfortable working in a school environment with children and young people.
