As a System Administrator your role will encompass supporting, configuring, maintaining and upgrading the company's IT infrastructure, inclusive of LAN / WAN, Servers, PC's, firewalls, switches, printers and VoIP telephony.

Your main duties will include:



Installing, configuring, and maintaining software, hardware, network and application components of the IT infrastructure Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving software, hardware, and networking issues Administering storage, backup, and retrieval of data Managing and testing of Disaster Recovery procedures Identifying and implementing new strategies for optimal computer system operations Replacing and upgrading outdated or defective components Enforcing security best practices to prevent cyber-attacks and security breaches Responding to incidents and requests logged in the company Helpdesk System Prioritising incidents and requests Windows PC and Mac support Providing technical support to our Warehouse/Dispatch operations Supporting firewalls, routers, switches, wireless LAN, servers, PCs, printers & VoIP telephony Installing and integrating new server hardware and applications Monitoring network links, assessing the impact of systems on network performance, investigating reported performance issues Supporting and administering the company's ERP system Management of domain user accounts, permissions, and group policies Maintaining windows security patches and anti-malware updates and policies Maintaining network inventory Producing and keeping up-to-date documentation of I.T. Systems Support & administration of Microsoft 365 and associated applications Providing guidance and knowledge sharing to other members of the IT support team
You will be an energetic, highly driven individual. You will have a positive and enthusiastic outlook, be a good team player and the commitment and the ability to meet deadlines are a must. The ability to multi-task, excellent problem-solving skills and a self-motivated approach are also vital.

Required skills:



Good knowledge of operating systems and networking platforms Understanding of system security and cyber resilience Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching Experience with firewall support and configuration Experience with support and administration of wireless access points Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control and monitoring of server infrastructure Ability to setup, configure and support a VMware virtual server environment Disaster recovery processes and procedures Microsoft 365 administration Microsoft Intune administration Microsoft Office applications TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP SAN & NAS technologies Active Directory administration VoIP Telephony Understanding of Veeam backup and replication software Dependable and flexible to provide support outside of normal business hours when necessary Excellent communication skills & customer service Resourcefulness and ability to work under pressure

Nice to Have



MCSE certification HP Aruba or Cisco CCNA / CCNP certification Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server Microsoft Azure Salesforce CRM

Working hours:



Monday to Friday - 08:30 to 17:00. Flexible working hours during our peak periods, with the odd Sunday or Bank Holiday support required.

Part of our flexible working requirement is being available to respond to critical system alerts outside of normal business hours, either remotely or with a site visit, this will require you to be within a 45 minute drive of our office. There will also be requirements to perform certain maintenance duties out of normal hours, such as Windows patching of servers. This is controlled on a rota basis for technicians to be 'on-call' from home for some evenings during the week or on weekends. Any work carried out during the on-call or maintenance window is given back as TOIL.

Salary:



From 35k to 38k
