vacancy has arisen on the evening shift at our Holly Road site in Skegness, Lincolnshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our IT team.

Job Purpose:





Join our nine-person IT team as an IT Systems Administrator where you will act as an escalation point for first-line support, diagnose technical problems, assist third line with infrastructure improvements, and support seamless IT operations across the organisation. Your expertise will contribute to the availability, security, and performance of our IT systems.

Job Role:





The role's key responsibilities will include:



Provide second-line support by troubleshooting and resolving escalated IT issues related to hardware, software, networks, and cloud services. Collaborate with first-line support teams to improve technical issue resolution. Support with the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, networking devices, and cloud platforms. Monitor system performance and security, proposing proactive solutions. Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Active Directory and other management platforms. Support business-critical applications and ensure timely updates and maintenance. Document solutions, technical procedures, and best practices for knowledge-sharing. Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, migrations, and process improvements. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and security best practices. Participate in scheduled out-of-hours projects and maintenance, as well as respond to out-of-hours IT emergency calls. The role involves working with sensitive data, requiring strict adherence to confidentiality and security protocols.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:





Essential



Relevant technical certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft M365, Cisco CCNA etc.) Strong understanding of IT systems, including operating systems (e.g. Windows Desktop, Android, Windows Server), network protocols, and cloud technologies (e.g. M365). Experience with IT troubleshooting, ticketing systems, and technical support workflows. Experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V). Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, and user administration. Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and data protection best practices. Ability to diagnose hardware and software issues and provide effective solutions. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose technical issues efficiently. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users. Strong organisational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail, with an eagerness to learn and improve technical knowledge. Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Full UK driver's license. Previous experience in an IT support or systems administration role.


Desirable



A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
