About the recruitment process
The recruitment process for this role will involve 2 stages following your online application. The first interview will be conducted with our IT Delivery Manager, and our Senior IT Network Analyst, and will involve competency, values and technical based questions. Successful candidates will then attend a second interview with our Head of IT and another key stakeholder.

What you'll be doing
As an IT Technical Consultant, you will:
Lead the successful design and delivery of project and change initiatives at Edinburgh Airport
Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the business to define how business requirements can be delivered by technical solutions
Lead on the delivery of network components of projects and change initiatives
Lead the delivery of end-to-end set-ups for 3rd party campus partners
Evaluate project and technical requirements, and validate the proposed solutions/products fit with Network Architecture and Technology Roadmap
Review and assure technical network proposals from third parties
Provide support and guidance to the EAL Service Desk team when dealing with IT Network requests and issues that have been escalated
Strive to become an established subject matter expert in the team, sharing your expertise with others
Support the upskilling and cross skilling of colleagues in the wider IT Team
What we're looking for
To apply for this role, you'll need:
This role requires the successful candidate to obtain a Counter Terrorist Check, so you must have been living in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years
Experience in IT network environments: design topology, configuration, directing installation, documentation, and enforcing standards
In-depth knowledge and experience of Cisco networking, including LANs, WANs, wireless, firewalls, switching, and routing
Understanding of IT network services security technologies and standards
Commitment to ongoing learning, demonstrated by participating in educational opportunities, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional bodies
Knowledge and experience of Cisco hardware and monitoring tools
The following knowledge would be nice to have, but is not essential for this role:
Airport/Aviation Experience
Exposure to Cisco Software Defined Networking
Experience working with cross functional teams
Experience working on projects
