Job Description

The Information Technology Technician is responsible for day to day support of the hotel computer systems including network, Wi-Fi, server and desktop hardware, printers, TVs software applications, helpdesk management, licensing compliance and asset management. To proactively assist the IT Manager with the implementation of new systems and manage the on-going support and maintenance of existing systems.
Key responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring telephone & computer hardware, operating systems and applications to the approved standards in offices and guest rooms
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks to ensure safe and secure operation in offices and guest rooms
  • Supporting internal customers, resolving system and software issues in offices and guest rooms
  • Providing first line maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware, including printers, PCs, TVs and network components
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults in offices and guest rooms
  • Providing support including documentation and reporting
  • Supporting the roll-out of new applications
  • Setting up new users' accounts and profiles, dealing with password issues
  • Supporting printers and multi-function devices in offices and guest rooms
  • Managing and prioritising their own workload based on the business need.
  • Working with 3rd party Suppliers and Support Teams to resolve issues
  • To install, configure and deploy PC workstations in line with IT specifications as required by the IT Manager.
  • To liaise with IT Manager to ensure systems are being used correctly in line with the company policies.
  • To provide IT support cover out of hours cover as required as part of a weekly rota.
  • To assist the IT Manager with any related task or ad-hoc exercise that may be added to usual duties either on a temporary or permanent basis as and when business requires.
  • To ensure maximum availability of computer systems throughout the hotel.
  • Responsible for checking PCI compliancy.
  • To be available on call to handle IT related issues out of normal office hours.
  • Check antivirus software is up to date in all computers and servers.
  • Communicate with suppliers and contractors.
  • Attend and pro-actively particulate in any training that you have been assigned or requested for.

  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal (guest facing position)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
