Job Description


The School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work (SSESW) at Queen\xe2\x80\x99s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of IT Technician.

This position involves offering both technical and administrative assistance to ensure the efficient operation of the School\'s varied computing systems in administrative, teaching, and research domains. The chosen candidate will serve as the primary contact for numerous users, addressing their concerns independently or in co-operation with other support personnel within the School or the central IT team.

Interviews will take place on the Queen\xe2\x80\x99s University Belfast campus. Online interviews are not available for this position.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:

  • Academic and/or vocational qualifications i.e., OND/ONC and/or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with significant computing content.
  • A minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a technical support role to include each of the following:
  • Support of customers using PCs with MS Windows in MS Active Directory Environment
  • Installation of Operating Systems and applications software on desktop or server systems
  • Support of MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
