The role



We are looking for someone to Join our internal BAU support team as a 3rd line support technician. we are looking to find someone to provide advanced technical support for IT infrastructure, systems, and services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role handles complex incidents and requests escalated from 1st and 2nd line support, supports project delivery which would be handed down from the Service Delivery Manager and Service desk manager.



You will also be required to be a part of upgrades to internal systems when they available to either implement or be available for support if required.



The Candidate should be able to show they have the skills and experience as outlined in the job spec, aswell as the ability to be able to work as part of a team and help out 1st line and 2nd line even if its outside their role.


Day to day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to


dealing with Issues that may need to be fixed by deploying a Group policy, making firewall rule change or maybe fixing an underlying server issue dealing with any switch issues where they may go down or need to be replaced (RMA) upgrading software to fix vulnerabilities e.g. Server software, Firewalls, switches looking into vulnerabilities across the estate and helping fix them whether a registry change is needed, update needs to be rolled out. Helping the 2nd lines with this too incase they are having issues with their fix. looking into calls that were escalated to figure out if its an email server issue, email filtering issue, web filtering issue, firewall port issue. technologies which the candidate would need to know to help with the above - powershell, firewall knowledge, windows server OS, networking knowledge, GPO, supporting a virtual environment, Supporting a Hybrid setup with AWS, Azure/M365
