About the role

This is a newly created role within AIG that will oversee the strategic planning, execution and management of IT transformation initiatives.

The primary objective will be to align the global technology capabilities with UK\xe2\x80\x99s business objectives, drive digital innovation within the UK business, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize existing digital workflow platforms and investment to support AIG UK\xe2\x80\x99s long-term strategy.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Support the UK CIO in prioritizing opportunities for digital transformation, and develop and execute the IT transformation strategy, aligning global operations and General Insurance IT initiatives with business goals.
• Collaborate with senior executives, department heads, and cross-functional teams to identify IT needs, prioritize projects, and ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the transformation journey.
• Acts as subject-matter expert in department leadership role (often liaising with executive leadership to drive business outcomes)
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT transformation projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Day-to-day direction to the Delivery Teams and Pods for 1-2 large, complex programs
• Facilitate the input and prioritization of change request to maintain operational stability and efficiency through appropriate Operations Committee.
• Provide estimates and proactively manage financial inputs into PMO and Finance
• Manage relationships with external technology partners, overseeing their performance and contractual obligations.
• Support organizational change in partnership with the Business Change and Controls team, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring smooth adoption of new technologies and processes across departments.
• Identify potential risks and challenges associated with IT transformation projects and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
• Drive quality assurance reviews, internal and external as required, and resolve all critical actions to the agreed timelines.

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for

• Significant experience in technology, preferably Technology Delivery, Technology Managed Services, or IT Consulting within Financial Services
• Strong leadership experience with the ability to provide clear direction and motivate team members
• Experience of planning, executing and managing complex IT transformation initiatives
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of principles, procedures, and skills in technology delivery and an advanced understanding of Waterfall and Agile delivery frameworks.
