The Role:



To provide training and support to interns with barriers to learning including; SEND, NEET's, business co-workers and families on a supported internship programme.

To ensure the interns success during their work place rotations and to seek out job opportunities both within and outside the host employer, so interns can make successful transitions into paid employment.

To actively promote the development of the supported internship through the creation of external partnerships and the development of internal systems and protocols.

The Job Coach will actively embrace Greenlight's core principles to ensure an inclusive and positive environment for our learners with SEND.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Actively support young people aged 16-25 with EHCP's who are looking for employment, providing them with job search skills, support within work place rotations, training and support in the classroom and experience in order to facilitate their achievement of identified goals. Continually assess and collaborate with each young person both formally and informally to create an adaptable, personalised vocational profile and individual learning plan. Provide individualised support for interns at the host business, including job coaching, identifying placements, performing job analysis and job matching activities. Provide continual support and guidance, ensuring the progression of learners after entering paid employment. Demonstrate innovative approaches to employer engagement through marketing and promotion in order to identify and secure potential opportunities for paid employment both within and outside the host employer. Develop partnerships with local employers to identify employment opportunities for learners. Create and maintain necessary paperwork and documentation to support and evidence the programme using IT based systems. Coordinate with other Job Coaches and meet with the supported internship tutor daily to prioritise and distribute workload ensuring that each young person is provided with the appropriate levels of support and discuss interns progress.

Unit C, E, Huxley Close, Newnham Industrial Estate, Plymouth, PL7 4JN.

Salary:



25,500 gross per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

Working Hours

:

Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30.

42 weeks per year

Other General Responsibilities:



Participate in training to enhance skills and knowledge.

To actively and positively contribute to the appraisal process and to follow up agreed actions.

Adhere to the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, and training requirements.

Be safety-conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.

To work at all times in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to follow all company procedures and guidelines which assist this.

To work at all times in accordance with the company's Dignity & Diversity Policy.

To work at all times in accordance with the GDPR Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

To undertake Continuous Professional Development as directed by your Line Manager.

To undertake such other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job.

Qualifications and Skills:



Passion for supporting young people with special educational needs. Interest in construction and working within the sector. Patience, empathy, and a calm, professional manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to take direction and work collaboratively with colleagues. Reliable, punctual, and committed to learner success. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training provided).

Person Specification:



Essential Criteria



GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or equivalent Functional Skills

Appropriate academic or vocational qualification equivalent to a level 3 with willingness to work towards a level 4 qualification

Experience working with young people or vulnerable groups (formal or informal).

Suitable Enhanced DBS Check

Desirable Criteria



Knowledge or experience of working in a construction training environment.

Experience as a Job Coach, Youth Worker, Support Worker or TA.

Understanding of EHCPs and how they are implemented in an educational setting.

Experience supporting learners in vocational or work-based learning.

Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.

First Aid qualification.
