Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare and cook

fish & chips

according to approved recipes and standards Operate the

fryer independently

, ensuring correct oil quality and temperature control Serve customers efficiently and professionally (dine-in & takeaway) Handle

cash and card transactions

accurately Upsell menu items to maximise sales Maintain

cleanliness and organisation

of the kitchen and service areas Control food portions to ensure consistency and minimise waste Assist with

stock control

, deliveries, and rotation Follow

UK food safety law

, hygiene regulations, and allergen procedures at all times Communicate allergen information clearly and accurately to customers Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, preferably within a restaurant or catering environment Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts Basic maths skills for handling cash and measuring ingredients Previous kitchen or culinary experience is highly desirable Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Willingness to learn new skills and contribute positively to the team

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary, Fixed term contract, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour
