JGW+ Skills Tutor (Maternity Cover)



Contract term: Temporary


Hours: 37 hours over 5 days


Location: Barry


Salary: 26,375 rising to 29,540 per annum

What you'll do:



Are you passionate about

helping young people build confidence and prepare for a brighter future

? We're looking for an enthusiastic and supportive Skills Tutor to join our Jobs Growth Wales+ (JGW+) team on a temporary basis.

Your key responsibilities will include:



Delivering meaningful, creative, and accessible learning sessions

Supporting learner wellbeing and personal development

Running practical mini-projects, volunteering tasks, and enterprise activities

Travelling between local centres if required to support learners

Inspiring young people to believe in their potential

Every day will bring something new--our learners are diverse, and we're looking for someone who thrives on variety and wants to make a real impact.

What we need from you:



Experience of teaching/delivery within a learning environment

Good level of Maths and English GCSE C or above (spoken and written)

Strong IT skills and confident using Microsoft Office, Word and Excel

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Creative, resilient, and passionate about learner development

A track record of meeting targets and working independently as well as collaboratively

Ability to motivate and engage young people

What to Expect
