Due to continuing growth and development, we are looking for a highly capable Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join and strengthen our friendly, ambitious team.

ORGANISATION DESCRIPTION
We are an established, highly regarded commercial Joinery manufacturer and fit out contractor based in Wigan, servicing the construction and leisure industries.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This full-time position is responsible for, but is not limited to, preparing all parts of an estimate and working closely with the sales and management teams.

Duties will include but not limited to:

You will analyse drawings and other documentation to assemble accurate estimates and proposals. Ensure that all calculations meet the requirements of the material specified or an equivalent. You will be responsible for generating sales and estimates for commercial projects and ensuring that pricing is both current and accurate while maintaining the material costing database. Ensure proper material lead times are documented for the client and opportunities/costs to make changes to their order in conjunction with the team. Maintain / forge relationships with contractors and clients. Generate leads and sales enquiries. Consult and communicate with project managers and clients at all project levels.
Additional things to note:

Candidate must have experienced knowledge within the joinery sector / fit out and construction. AutoCAD knowledge is preferred but not a necessity.
KNOWLEDGE
Educated to GCSE standards with three years experienced and knowledgeable bench joinery and bconstruction practices.
Ability to analyse information closely, estimate, plan, and pay attention to detail.
Estimating knowledge - ability to read architectural plans and specifications.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Experience with any Estimating Software is a essential.

The successful candidate will have a strong commercial awareness
Proven time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
Direct client contact is a crucial part of this role; therefore, excellent communication skills are essential, exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform tasks with minimum supervision, confident about working independently, with high accuracy and efficiency.
You will have a complete understanding of the production flow and product completion.
The position will involve occasional travel, and you must have a valid driver's license.
