Urban is a growing, design-led workshop manufacturing, kitchens, furniture and custom joinery for clients across the commercial, development and residential sectors, from kitchens to wardrobes, to media units, counters, seating, and one-off fit-out elements.

We're now looking for a

Project Designer

to take full ownership of our

technical drawing packs, visualisations

, and

production ready outputs

for both our

workshop team

and

clients

.

Working Location:

This is a

hybrid role

based across our

group office in Derby

,

workshop in North Hykeham (Lincoln)

, and

home working

.
It would suit someone located in or near

Derby, Lincoln, or surrounding areas

who is happy to split their time between locations when needed, but can manage their own diary and work independently.

Responsibilities:

Create clear, accurate technical drawings from client briefs and internal concepts Produce visuals and presentations for clients to bring designs to life (SketchUp/3D etc.) Prepare cutting lists, material breakdowns, and workshop-ready documentation Liaise with the workshop and CNC operator to ensure accurate, efficient production Collaborate with the wider team to develop designs that are practical and buildable Help refine and improve internal design standards and workflow processes

What We're Looking For:

Experience in a bespoke joinery, interiors, or furniture design/workshop environment Strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) Ability to produce both technical and client-facing visuals A good understanding of workshop processes, materials, and construction methods Detail driven with solid communication and problem-solving skills
