Key Responsibilities:

As an Automation & Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality automation solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

Project Development:

Conducting site surveys to assess potential project requirements & site mapping. Preparing detailed and accurate project quotes. Designing & building electrical systems, including schematics and technical drawings. From conception to commissioning, you will fully own, develop & complete projects.

Technical Expertise:

Researching and sourcing components for system assembly. Developing and troubleshooting automation systems, including fault-finding and diagnostics using advanced tools such as web-based diagnostics and industrial software. Producing and interpreting technical documentation, including device manuals, schematics, and operating procedures.

Project Management and Quality Assurance:

Supporting project management tasks, such as creating Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and other project documentation. Ensuring the quality and consistency of manufacturing and process applications through quality assurance principles. Participating in presentations and customer meetings to communicate project goals and progress.

Installation and Support:

Actively participating in the installation, commissioning, startup, shutdown, and ongoing maintenance of advanced control systems. Configuring and supporting industrial network solutions across hierarchical levels of control system integration.

Mentoring and Development:

Assisting in the mentoring of apprentices, contributing to their growth and development within the company. Continuous professional development and industry-focused training.

Customer Engagement:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.

Innovation and Improvement:

Contributing to the ongoing development of engineering policies, standards, and procedures to ensure ECS remains at the forefront of the automation industry.

Possess strong IT skills and experience with computer systems in a technical environment. Communicate clearly and credibly, thriving under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Be adaptable, taking on additional tasks as needed to support operational success.

Qualifications and Experience:

We are seeking candidates with the following:

Educational Background:

HNC or higher in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or a related subject.

Professional Training:

Apprenticeship trained as an Instrument Technician or Automation and Controls Engineer. 18th Edition certification.
