Job Description

A leading set of barristers' chambers specialising in commercial litigation and arbitration, is currently seeking a Junior Clerk to join the Chambers clerking team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to start their clerking career in a Magic Circle Set.

Purpose of role

The role will include general office duties; document production requests; delivery of case materials; and arranging for barristers and case materials to be transported to and from hearings. Previous experience desirable but not essential.

Key responsibilities

Lodging of documents, accompanying members to court, delivery of papers to and from Court Collection and delivery of post, by hand deliveries Photocopying and bundling Efficient management and distribution of incoming communications, urgent papers/instructions Fixing hearings at Court Entering fees and case data on to the LEX diary and fees system Answering incoming telephone calls and directing calls to members and staff when reception is otherwise engaged

Qualifications

Applicants should have 2 'A' Levels (Grade C or above) or equivalent qualification. Given the longer term career prospects, graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Benefits

22 days holiday p.a., with an additional day for each year of full service.
