Junior Brand Marketing Manager

Manchester, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

KOI is looking for a Junior Brand Marketing Manager -- an entry?level role blending brand building with hands?on marketing execution (socials, campaigns, activations).

Pay: 32,000

Base: Manchester (4?days HQ, 1?day remote)

Reports to: Creative Director

OUR ORIGIN STORY AND WHY WE NEED YOU

KOI was born out of rebellion.

We were the brand that flipped off beige fashion, put spikes on platforms, and refused to blend in. We were noise, chaos, and cult energy.

Then... the graphs went up. Corporate thinking crept in. Decks replaced doodles. KPIs smothered instinct. We traded anarchy for analytics. Our roar dulled into a polite hum.

No more.

We're switching the signal back on. This role is for a facilitator who can help reignite KOI's original spirit, turning sharp ideas into culture, and culture into commercial impact.

YOUR MISSION: IGNITE THE COUNTER?CULTURE

Rip KOI out of autopilot and make noise that matters. Own the marketing calendar like a detonator, pack it with drops, stunts, humour, and stories that can't be ignored. You'll run our calendar week-to-week, reporting to the CD who owns macro brand direction. Leverage a combination of in-house team members and freelancers to execute your plans. Turn rebellion into revenue. Prove that chaos sells.

TEAM ENGAGEMENT

Create assets with freelance designers and hand them to the CRM squad for emails, SMS and push. Define the website's visual pulse, co-pilot wireframes and landing pages with the E-com Manager. Sign-off the monthly brand calendar with the Creative Director; update stakeholders on any pivots. Map the email/SMS schedule side-by-side with CRM so stories sync across channels. Sync with Operations to lock launch dates to delivery windows, loop in collab partners for shared drops. Own the social calendar, brief freelancers, schedule posts, jump in live when culture calls. Contribute to the weekly trade meeting with performance snapshots, next-week headlines and any risks.

THE BLUEPRINT: CHAOS WITH A SCOPE

1. Re?write the Brand Calendar

Erase corporate beige. Fill it with culture bombs, sh1t posts, fake collaborations, guerrilla drops, viral storytelling, a bit of KOI history etc.

Plan > Brief > Execute > Measure Post?execution intel: Track reach, sentiment, sell?through, and use it to fuel the next activation. Manage spend with a pre-approved budget.

2. Inject KOI's DNA Into Every Touchpoint

Make every product drop feel like a micro?revolution.

Our styles and drops have multiple flavours and don't follow one typical aesthetic, you must embody this spirit and match this variety, underpinning each drop with touches of detail that make them recognisably KOI. Guard KOI's voice like it's sacred. No dilution. Ever.

3. Hijack Culture. Bail Before It Sells Out.

Spot raw trends before the mainstream does. Funnel them through the brand in a KOI way: 0.0001 shoes, free poster of a potato for every order, deal or no deal email.. the possibilities here are endless. Amplify, twist, weaponize, and move on.

4. Break Systems (But Show the Maths)

Pitch fearlessly. leverage our network of freelancers, gather ideas from every corner, and utilise this to present ideas which break the mould. Anchor every risk to clear KPIs so finance nods, not flinches.

YOUR DAY?TO?DAY ARSENAL

Own the Calendar, be around 2-4 weeks ahead, pivot in 24 hours if culture calls. Execute 360 Campaigns: Brief creatives, mobilise social, partner with merch & e-com, have assets ready ahead of schedule, measure the results. Social Sabotage: Feed TikTok/Reels/Shorts with uncut KOI energy, work with freelancers to ensure the marketing gameplan is being followed. Trend Surgery: Kill tired formats, resurrect, or remix with new venom. Data as Ammo: Use metrics to prove rebellion drives revenue, and guide future activations.

WE WANT YOU IF...

You can move from meme to meeting deck without losing the point. You speak TikTok, Reels and whatever's next. You treat KPIs (awareness, sentiment, sell-through) as permission to go bolder, not smaller. You might be fresh out of uni, or just unpolluted by "the right way to market." No strict years required. Fresh graduates and self-taught makers very welcome.*
You have seen The Matrix (this is a bonus and not necessary)*

WHY THIS ISN'T ANOTHER SOULLESS GIG

You own the rebellion. No endless committees. If it reignites KOI, do it. You rise fast. Prove you can spark culture and you'll be leading the charge. Staff perks, product discounts, hybrid working and a inclusive team culture.
