We are recruiting for a Junior Building Repair Insurance Surveyor to join our well established construction company based in Ripley, Derbyshire. We specialise in insurance claim repairs to residential properties within the East Midlands, with the majority throughout Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The position is office based. Some experience of the insurance industry is required, but in-house training will be provided.
The role involves:
Surveying and scoping insurance claims projects with a value from 0-150,000.
Use of dedicated software systems such as Symbility, Xactware and Blueprint.
Managing a varied caseload of claims from different loss adjusters and insurance companies.
Surveying and estimating repair works, and producing scope of works for insurance company approval.
Working closely with other team members towards the management of repairs.
Discussing the works required with our in-house tradespeople in order for works to be progressed.
Carrying out on-site checks to evaluate progress of works.
Liaising with policyholders and loss adjusters throughout the lifespan of the claim.
Our Requirements:
You will need some experience of working within the insurance industry with particular emphasis on residential property repairs.
Understanding of the insurance claims process, to include assessing damage, and repairs needed, and producing a scope of workswith a high level of accuracy.
Working knowledge of claims management software such as Symbility or Xactware.
A strong approach to professionalism and customer service.
The ability to clearly communicate with people from all walks of life.
Knowledge, understanding and experience of all types of insurance claims e.g. escape of water, storm, fire and flood.
Ability to work as part of a small team.
We can offer you:
Annual salary of circa 20,000 - 25,000 dependant on age and experience.
Office based position in purpose built building in Ripley, Derbyshire.
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm - no weekends.
