We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Chef to join our team here at The Wheatsheaf. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, along with a keen interest in developing their culinary skills within a dynamic kitchen environment. This role involves assisting in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene while contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.
Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation, pastry and larder under the guidance of senior chefs.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.
Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
Uphold hospitality standards by providing excellent service to both guests and staff.
Experience
Previous kitchen experience is essential, at least one year experience is needed.
Culinary experience or relevant qualifications in hospitality or food production are advantageous.
Good knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is required.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn from experienced chefs is crucial for success in this role.
