The job
Join AVEVA's global Cloud Operations and Infrastructure team, where software development meets cloud operations to deliver secure, scalable platforms for our product teams. As a Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer, you'll be part of a collaborative environment focused on learning and growth, helping to strengthen the security of AVEVA's cloud solutions. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has recently completed a relevant degree or has started their career and is looking to specialise in cloud security.
Key responsibilitiesLearn and apply cloud security principles across AWS and Azure environments
Help maintain secure cloud configurations using code
Collaborate with development teams to create secure, scalable cloud solutions
Contribute to best-practice templates and processes
Respond to security incidents and support continuous improvement initiatives
Gain hands-on experience with RADIS, AVEVA's internal security and compliance framework
You may occasionally be asked to support out-of-hours work or participate in an on-call rota shared across the global team.
Essential requirementsEducation & Experience:A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
Up to 2 years of experience in a technical or security-related role (internships count!)
A strong interest in cloud technologies and security
Technical Skills (You don't need all of these--just a willingness to learn):Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
Exposure to web development or scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
Familiarity with security concepts like authentication, APIs, or network protocols
Interest in Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, or automation tools
Soft Skills:Clear communication -- written and verbal
Curiosity and a proactive approach to learning
Attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
Desired skills and competenciesCertifications in AWS or Azure
Awareness of security frameworks like ISO27001
