We are seeking to recruit a motivated and detail oriented
Junior Commercial Lawyer
to join our in-house legal department. This role will primarily support our retail and property business, including matters related to retail operations and commercial agreements, while also contributing to a wide range of broader commercial legal and project matters including the integration of acquisitions across the group.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified lawyer to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced in-house environment, working closely with senior lawyers and commercial teams across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including retail supply and distribution agreements, lease and licence agreement for retail and forecourts sites, confidentiality (NDAs), heads of terms and licensing contracts.
Provide legal support on real estate matters, including site acquisitions/disposals, landlord-tenant issues, easements, and planning-related matters.
Advise on contractual rights, risks, and obligations, ensuring legal input is aligned with commercial objectives.
Providing general legal advice to the Group's UK business and other subsidiaries in relation to their activities, with the aim of safeguarding the Group's interests.
Assist with corporate governance matters, including maintaining statutory records and assisting with company secretarial duties.
Support compliance activities, including data protection (GDPR), anti-bribery, competition law, and other regulatory frameworks.
Qualifications:
Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or relevant jurisdiction, with 0-2 years PQE.
Strong academic background with a law degree (or equivalent).
Experience:
Some prior experience (internships, training contract seats, or paralegal work) in commercial law, ideally gained in a law firm or in-house legal team.
Familiarity with contract law and common commercial agreements.
Oil, commodities, trading and/or shipping experience is an advantage, as is corporate and/or finance experience.
Experience or understanding of corporate law, compliance, and data protection is a plus.
