Role Overview:
To support the delivery of inclusive, enjoyable, and engaging dance and physical activity sessions as a Junior Dance Coach for Trowbridge Town Council. The post holder will encourage participation across all age groups, promoting behaviour change and the adoption of active, healthy lifestyles.
The Junior Dance Coach will utilise their training and qualifications to deliver high-quality dance sessions and assist with wider sports and leisure activities as part of the Active Trowbridge team, both within the community and at council-led events.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver inclusive dance sessions tailored to a range of ages, skill levels, and abilities, adapting routines and techniques as necessary to meet individual and group needs.
Lead on all dance provision within Active Trowbridge, supporting the development and progression of participants.
Support school performances, dance showcases, and end-of-term presentations as required.
Assist with coaching other sports, where appropriate, under the Junior Sports Coach remit.
Support the retention of young people in sport through high-quality coaching in schools, clubs, and community settings.
Contribute to outreach work across the town, listening to the interests and needs of young people to help inform future provision.
Be a positive role model, creating a welcoming, fun, and encouraging environment that motivates participation in sport and physical activity.
Requirements:
NGB Level 1 in any sport or a childcare qualification
Experience of coaching and playing a number of sports
A minimum of one years' experience of sports coaching; establishing, delivering and coordinating coaching programmes for young people (including those with disabilities)
