As a Junior Data Engineer at Trade Nation, you will have experience in Data Modelling and SQL within a cloud-first environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in MS SQL Server administration, ETL development, and cloud platforms (AWS and MS Azure), along with familiarity with big data technologies. This role requires operating in a secure environment, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop data pipelines while implementing efficient ETL processes. Monitor, optimise, and ensure the reliability of data sources. Develop, refine, and maintain data models to support business requirements. Collaborate with business stakeholders to facilitate the accurate and effective integration of new datasets into the data warehouse. Conduct data profiling and exploratory analysis to derive actionable insights.

Requirements

Proven experience in Data Modelling and SQL. Expertise in MS SQL Server administration (performance tuning, HADR, backups, security.) Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT development. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data technologies. Experience working in secure, regulated finance environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize data workflows. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
