Job Summary


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in the analysis and interpretation of complex data sets to help drive strategic decision-making. You will work closely with senior data scientists and other team members to develop models and algorithms that enhance our understanding of data and improve our products and services.

Duties



Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and understand business needs. Conduct data mining and analysis using various tools and techniques. Develop machine learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow and Spark. Assist in the design and implementation of databases, ensuring optimal structure for data storage. Write scripts in languages such as Python, R, or Java for data manipulation and analysis. Utilise big data technologies like Hadoop to process large datasets efficiently. Implement natural language processing techniques to extract insights from unstructured data. Prepare reports and visualisations to communicate findings to stakeholders effectively. Maintain documentation of methodologies, processes, and results for reproducibility.

Qualifications



Master's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related IT field Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, or C. Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow). Experience with big data technologies including Hadoop and Spark is advantageous. Knowledge of database design principles and proficiency in SQL for querying databases. Understanding of statistical analysis tools such as SAS or VBA is a plus. Experience with GCP cloud services is beneficial. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Effective communication skills for presenting findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
