Aubrey Allen Ltd are a catering butcher based in Coventry. We supply meat, poultry and cheese to some of the finest chefs and establishments across the UK.

We are recruiting for a

Junior Desktop Engineer

to support our I.T lead.

Working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4pm, hybrid working available.

Role Overview:



We are seeking a proactive Junior Desktop Engineer with a strong foundation in Microsoft technologies. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career, with a passion for technology and a desire to learn and grow within a dynamic and growing company. You'll be supporting end users across the business, ensuring that desktops, laptops, company mobile devices, and user accounts are set up and running effectively. You'll be providing 1st and 2nd line technical support.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide day-to-day desktop and user support (1st/2nd line) for Windows-based systems. Set up, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Install, configure, and support Microsoft Office 365 applications and services. Manage Active Directory tasks including user account creation, password resets, and group memberships. Provide support for remote users. Maintain software updates, security patches, and MFA on end-user devices. Document incidents, requests, and resolutions in the Topology Documentation. Escalate complex issuesas needed. Assist with IT asset inventory and equipment lifecycle management. Participate in IT projects such as hardware refreshes, migrations, and software rollouts.

Skills and Experience Required:



Essential:



Good knowledge of Windows 10/11 desktop environments. Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.). Basic understanding of Active Directory and user account management. Familiarity with remote support tools and SharePoint. Good interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-service mindset. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Desirable:



Exposure to Microsoft Entra and Hybrid AD Understanding of ITIL practices or helpdesk procedures. Experience working in an IT support environment. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator).

Qualifications:



Minimum: IT-related qualification (e.g., BTEC, diploma, or equivalent experience). Desirable: Relevant Microsoft certifications.
