Job Description

As a Software Dev-Ops & Test Engineer, your time will be split between two core responsibilities, liaising with your manager to prioritize. You will join our Software team in Crawley in developing new software products to deliver value from our sensor data using Kanban methodologies. On-the-job training will be provided.


In terms of Dev-Ops, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our development infrastructure. E.g, keeping our CICD pipeline available and efficient, maintaining scripts for automation, and designing action plans to address functionality gaps.


In terms of testing, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our applications. The testing is primarily manual with an opportunity to develop your abilities in test automation.





In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Maintain Azure infrastructure including security patching virtual machines when updates are made available; Improve CICD pipelines for the team's benefits; Troubleshoot and fix issues in CICD pipelines; Securing the quality of our hardware and software products by carrying out tests within dedicated software for test management; Responsible for leading all aspects of test management software (TestRail) - developing and handling test cases and test runs; Maintaining and operating test infrastructure used for system testing including hardware setups (e.g. sensor networks) and It setups (e.g. virtual machines); Quantifying performance and reliability of our systems under different conditions; Offer feedback to build teams regarding our products, encompassing performance, software interfaces, and development to support continuous improvement.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Deep curiosity about automation scripting - PowerShell, Bash, Python; Strong curiosity about Cloud infrastructure; Excellent time management and planning skills; Strong communication skills; Tenacious and resilient and able to work under pressure to tight deadlines;

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

Software Testing experience would be beneficial; Formal education in Cybersecurity, computer science or similar scientific field; Familiarity with Windows and Ubuntu operating systems.
