We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Welder to join our Engineering team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone with basic TIG welding experience who is eager to develop specialized skills in hygienic (sanitary) welding for stainless steel piping and equipment used in clean environments such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, and biotech facilities.
Job Purpose:
The Junior Electrician will support the maintenance and repair of electrical systems and machinery across our production facility. This includes troubleshooting, assisting in installation and preventive maintenance, and ensuring electrical safety and compliance in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems on the production floor.
Conduct routine inspections and support preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
Troubleshoot and help resolve minor electrical faults in equipment such as conveyors, mixers, freezers, packaging machines, and refrigeration units.
Support wiring and lighting tasks in accordance with relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
Work closely with senior engineers to learn and apply best practices in food-safe manufacturing environments.
Document maintenance activities, faults, and part replacements in the maintenance log.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following health and safety protocols specific to food production.
Skills and Qualifications:
Completed or currently pursuing a recognized electrical apprenticeship or Level 2/3 Diploma in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and control panels.
Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills in a food manufacturing environment.
Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Flexible approach to shifts and potential overtime as required.
Preferred (but not required):
Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Knowledge of basic PLCs or industrial automation systems.
Familiarity with HACCP and GMP standards.
