Aquavitrum is a research, design, manufacturing and recycling company providing innovative plant and equipment for Material Recycling Facilities (MRF).
Aquavitrum operates a glass recycling site in Eastleigh, and are looking to recruit a Junior Electro-Mechanical Technician/Engineer to their team.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about electrical and mechanical systems and eager to develop their skills in a hands-on environment. The Junior Electro-Mechanical Technician will assist in the assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components and systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of our recycling plant and associated equipment.
This role would ideally suit an individual who has just finished their apprenticeship and is keen to further their knowledge in a hands on environment, or a technician/engineer who is looking to move into the recycling and process industry.
The role will be mostly working outside on our plant, with some workshop work for refurbishing machinery and process equipment.
Full PPE and training on our process and plant equipment will be provided to the sucessful candidate.
Duties
Assist in the assembly of electrical and mechanical components using hand tools and power tools.
Play an active role in PPM tasks (Planned Preventative Maintenance)
React to unplanned electrical and mechanical failures on static plant and equipment
Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement new engineering solutions.
Maintain accurate digital records of work performed and parts used during repairs.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean working environment.
Cleaning and refurbishment of electro-mechanical machinery.
Occasional operation of recycling plant to cover operational staff holiday/illness etc.
Skills
Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for assembly and repair tasks.
Basic understanding of electrical systems and components.
Familiarity with conveyors, motors and gearboxes would be advantageous.
Knowledge of logic controllers and VSD's is a plus.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various mechanical issues.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Must be fluent in spoken and written English language.
Must be proficient in the use of computers/technology.
