OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
At its core, the Junior Estimator / Internal Sales role at TotalSpan Steel Buildings is about working with our Estimating Manager to support the growth of the business by managing inbound enquiries, preparing accurate quotations, and providing exceptional service to customers looking for steel-framed buildings.
The ideal candidate will have a technical mindset, strong attention to detail, and a passion for helping customers find the right solution. You'll work closely with the wider team to qualify enquiries, prepare estimates, follow up with customers, and assist in driving projects from initial enquiry through to order.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
You may be early in your career or already have some experience in sales, estimating, or construction-related roles. What matters most is that you're confident with numbers, comfortable learning technical details, and enjoy speaking with customers.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Handling Inbound Enquiries:
Respond promptly and professionally to incoming sales and quotation requests, providing accurate information about our steel building products and services.
Preparing Quotations & Estimates:
Work with drawings, specifications, and supplier prices to prepare detailed and competitive quotations for steel buildings. Accuracy and attention to detail are key.
Customer Communication:
Engage with customers to understand their requirements, follow up on quotations, answer queries, and help move opportunities through the sales pipeline.
CRM & Record Keeping:
Use our CRM system to record enquiries, quotations, and follow-ups. Maintain clear and accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity.
Collaboration with Technical & Projects Teams:
Liaise with the technical and operations teams to ensure quotations align with our design and manufacturing capabilities.
Learning & Development:
You'll receive ongoing training to build your understanding of our products, pricing structures, and drawing packages, helping you progress toward a more senior estimating position within the business.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Some experience in sales, estimating, or customer service (ideally in a technical or construction-related role)
Confidence working with numbers and learning new systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); CRM experience beneficial
Willingness to learn basic drawing or layout software (training provided)
A proactive and positive attitude
