Role Purpose
As part of our Flagship Events Programme, we host a diverse range of activities; from sponsored roundtables and webinars to large-scale conferences and prestigious dinners; that shape the national tech agenda and foster meaningful collaboration.
The Junior Events Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the planning and execution of these events. Reporting to the Head of Events and Sponsorship, this role offers a dynamic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event management while contributing to the success of techUK's most visible and influential programmes. With a focus on operational excellence, stakeholder engagement and digital fluency, the Junior Events Manager will help ensure every event delivers value to our members and reinforces techUK's position as a convening force in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning and executing techUK's calendar of events (virtual, hybrid and in-person)
Coordinate logistics including venue booking, catering, AV setup and delegate management
Liaise with internal teams, members, speakers and sponsors to ensure smooth delivery
Support marketing efforts including event listings, email campaigns and social media promotion
Manage event registration systems and provide on-the-day support
Assist in processing invoices and ensure cost-effective event delivery
Collect feedback and contribute to post-event analysis and reporting
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Competencies
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
High attention to detail and ability to multitask
Confident using digital tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Cvent, CRM systems)
A collaborative team player with a can-do attitude
Calm under pressure and solution-oriented
Essential Knowledge and Experience
1-2 years' experience in event coordination or project support
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude
Desired knowledge and experience
Experience in B2B or policy-focused events
Interest in technology and current affairs
Awareness and experience of using the tools and technologies techUK provides; including but not limited to Microsoft Office, CRM, mobile and home working software, web tools and social media
Additional Information
This is a full time role based out of techUK's London offices, however techUK operates a flexible working policy. There will be some UK travel and support out of usual office hours will be required.
This role profile is a guide to the work that is required but does not form part of any contract of employment and may change from time to time to reflect changing circumstances.
The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK prior to the commencement of employment.
The salary range for this role is 30,000-35,000 per annum based upon experience plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
