Navys is transforming the fund formation process by combining deep legal expertise with AI; we are creating an Augmented Funds Lawyer for Private Capital. We are seeking an ambitious

Junior Engineer

to join our team on a 6-month contract and help build the legal intelligence backbone of our platform. This fully remote role requires availability during standard UK business hours (GMT) and offers a clear path to a permanent position for high-performing candidates. It's a unique chance to work alongside experienced private funds lawyers and innovators in a tech-forward environment, contributing to a product that is reshaping how private investment funds are formed.

We're an early-stage startup running entirely on Azure (Container Apps, Cosmos DB, OpenAI, Cognitive Search). Law firms already use our platform to upload, reason over, and automate complex fund documents. Your code will ship to production in days, not quarters.

What you'll own (first 12 months)

Ship new API endpoints and React/Next.js UI features end-to-end Build and monitor RAG pipelines (vector DB, prompt orchestration, eval harness) Harden infra with Bicep/Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure Monitor / App Insights Add security primitives: Managed Identity, Key Vault, Private Link Pair with founders on cost/perf tuning for Azure OpenAI & Cognitive Search Wear multiple hats--dev, DevOps, light product--depending on the week

Must-have technical foundations

1-3 years coding in Python (FastAPI)

or

TypeScript/Node.js Hands-on with at least two Azure PaaS services (e.g., Container Apps, Blob, Functions) Basic Docker + GitHub Actions (or Azure DevOps) experience Comfortable with React (hooks, basic state mgmt) and REST/WebSocket wiring Demonstrated curiosity about LLMs or MLOps (side project, blog, GitHub repo)

Nice-to-have extras

Exposure to Cosmos DB, AKS, Azure Cognitive Search or OpenAI Terraform/Bicep IaC, Prometheus/Grafana, or SOC 2/ISO 27001 logging patterns Legal-tech, reg-tech, or fintech data familiarity AZ-204 or AI-102 certification (or actively studying for it)
