Position

We are constantly looking for talented individuals to add to the team and as such are looking for Trainee Investigation Engineers/Technicians to work alongside and learn from our dedicated team of engineers, surveyors and technicians at our Garston Office in Watford or Cambridge Office.

The main opportunities to learn and develop will include, but not be limited to:
o Site inspection, survey & measurement of structures, which will include recording engineering observations: note taking, sketches, photographs
o On-site data collection using Non-Destructive Testing (ndt) techniques and relevant specialist instruments
o On-site material sampling and testing using intrusive methods on-site.
o Office based material sample processing and description and processing of non-destructive testing (ndt) data.
o Office based analysis and presentation of site collected data including ACAD Dwg where relevant

The role is primarily site based but also includes some office working. Strong communication skills both verbal and written are essential. GBG will provide all instrument and safety training as necessary. Ideally you will have a keen interest in structural site investigation or building surveying and hold a full UK driving licence. Some practical hands-on experience working on historic buildings, construction sites and/or refurbishment schemes with non-destructive testing and intrusive sampling and testing survey equipment is preferable. Having, or working towards, a OND/HNC/HND level qualification or above in a relevant engineering/surveying field is preferable.

Other Information
Starting salary in the range of 24,000 to 27,000 dependent on experience and qualifications, with 40 bonus per day on-site plus food allowance per day on-site.

Company and role specific training to be provided by GBG. 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and evening site survey works optional (dependent on Client requirements).

The successful candidate will be expected to travel to sites within the UK.
